The present study aims to investigate the impact of transactional analysis group training on social intimacy and compatibility of dormitory students. This study is quasi-experimental with the study group, the control group, pretest, posttest, and two months follow-up. The population includes students referred to the Counseling Center Hostel Shahid Beheshti University. Students who have behavioral reasons, inconsistency, Difficulty in interpersonal communication and academic failure were referred to counseling During the initial evaluation and implementation of social intimacy questionnaire (Miller and Lefcourt, 1982) And social compatibility California (Surb, Clark and Tikz, 1953) 48 of them were eligible to participate in the research Identification 30 of the students in the experimental group (n = 15) and control (n = 15) Were assigned randomly. For data analysis, analysis of variance repeated measures was used. The results have shown that the transactional analysis group training has affected social intimacy in the post-test and follow-up stages (P=0.001, F=20.39). Also, this training has significantly increased the social compatibility of the students (P=0.001, F=19.31).
